Black Ops

Black operations are covert actions carried out by unofficial troops or special units in order to achieve goals that are not possible within the applicable laws. This includes acts of sabotage, assassinations, kidnappings, cyberattacks or the targeted support of insurgencies.

Conspiracy theorists believe that high-ranking members of the government are often involved in such actions and that the mainstream media are used to conceal the truth. One of the best-known examples is the claim that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were staged by the US government to create a pretext for the invasion of Iraq. However, this thesis has been refuted.
