Blackout Scenario

Cyberattacks on power plants could trigger a massive power outage. Allegedly, the ensuing chain reaction could lead to the collapse of the state order, one by one, and even to the end of civilization – possibly orchestrated by elites behind the scenes who are planning a ‘reset’ of society with a New World Order. This doomsday scenario of a total blackout is often used by the po- litical right to rally against renewable energy. Others see the fear of the apocalypse as a lucrative business opportunity: more and more people – so-called preppers – are preparing for emergencies, building bunkers, and stocking up on supplies, including solar panels, water filters, and other survival gadgets. However, experts consider a total blackout to be rather unlikely.
