The best-known conspiracy theory about Lady Di is that her death was no accident, but that she and her then partner Dodi Al-Fayed fell victim to a murder plot. Allegedly, the British secret service MI6 or other influential circles orchestrated the princess‘s death in order to end her love affair with Dodi. A frequently cited motive for the alleged murder is the alleged rejection of Princess Diana by the royal family and the danger that she might reveal the royal family‘s alleged dark secrets.
However, no evidence of a murder plot was found. The official investigation into the incident found that the driver of the car was drunk and was speeding in a tunnel in Paris, which led to the fatal accident.
