Escape Plan

Ever wondered why private companies owned by billionaires, such as Virgin Galactic (Richard Branson), Blue Origin (Jeff Bezos), and SpaceX (Elon Musk), are investing enormous sums in space travel? It’s not just about the prospect of a future trillion-dollar business; it’s also about their grand escape plan – the colonization of celestial bodies! At least, that’s the idea according to conspiracy theories. Allegedly, these bad guys plan to deplete Earth’s resourc- es until nothing is left and then vanish into space. Similar to the movie Elysium, their fancy space colony would be exclusively reserved for the super-rich elite, leaving the rest of humanity behind on a plundered, barren planet Earth.

However, given the current state of technology, this scenario still appears to be rather unlikely.
