The Federal Reserve (Fed) is the central bank of the United States. It plays an important role in monetary policy and the regulation of the financial system. This naturally makes it a target for conspiracy theories. They claim that a small group of bankers controls monetary policy behind the scenes to serve their own interests. And that the Fed would create money out of thin air, deliberately causing inflation and financial instability. These theories, however, ignore the fact that the Fed is an independent institution. Its decisions are primarily based on economic data and objectives. Additionally, it is subject to oversight and regulation by the federal government, particularly Congress. So, nothing too dramatic here.
