"Did Hollywood fake the Moon landing?"
The first human landing on the Moon in 1969 was a globally watched spectacle, followed live on television by millions. However, rumours soon emerged that the Moon landing had been staged. It was claimed that the U.S. government and NASA, realising they were not technologically capable of winning the ‘space race’ against the Soviet Union, hired Hollywood to fake the event. Allegedly, the footage was directed by Stanley Kubrick in a secret film studio. Conspiracy theorists point to supposed mistakes in the footage: incorrect shadows cast by the astronauts, a sky devoid of stars, or the U.S. flag appearing to wave despite the absence of wind. These claims, however, have long been debunked through scientific explanations.
