Holocaust Denial

"Why is Holocaust denial not covered by freedom of speech?"

The Holocaust was the state-organized genocide of approximately six million European Jews by the Nazis during World War II. Despite overwhelming evidence, some conspiracy theorists in far-right circles try to reinterpret history. They claim that the systematic persecution and extermination of Jews and other Holocaust victims was either fabricated or vastly exaggerated. Proven evidence, such as survivors’ testimonies, documents, photos, and witness statements, is dismissed as falsified or manipulated. However, such claims are not only factually incorrect but also pure anti-Semitism. Therefore, Holocaust denial is not considered an ‘opinion’ but is classified as a criminal offense in many countries.
