Honeypot

"Is the internet the key to world domination?"

A honeypot is a cybersecurity mechanism designed as bait to attract cybercriminals and analyse their attack strategies. It’s intentionally made to look like a legitimate target, such as a server or application containing seemingly valuable data. In conspiracy myths, however, the term takes on a darker meaning: honeypots are described as devious cyber traps not only meant to outwit hackers but also to enable surveillance and manipulation. Governments and intelligence agencies are said to use them to monitor dissidents and activists or lure innocent individuals into compromising situations –making them vulnerable to blackmail.
