"Are the US secret services involved in the drug business?"

Conspiracy theorists believe so. They claim that the CIA, in particular, has been colluding with drug lords for decades. Allegedly, they use covert proceeds to fund clandestine operations – such as arming and supporting individuals who later became leaders of terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.
Other theories suggest that drug cartels are used as tools to fuel regional conflicts, or even to carry out false flag terror attacks. While the history of the CIA has undeniably seen its share of scandals, a few bad apples are not proof of systematic collaboration with the Narcos.
