Mole

"Are intelligence agencies working against us from within?"

A 'mole' is a covert agent or informant planted within organisations or governments. The goal of such operations is clear: gather information, exert influence, and seize control. In conspiracy myths, the mole becomes a symbol of large-scale infiltration: Could a corporate CEO be a secret agent? Or a minister a tool of foreign powers? In the US, conspiracy movements like QAnon claim that key political positions have been filled by moles, orchestrated by the so-called 'Deep State.' The idea of an 'enemy within' is particularly appealing in times of crisis, offering a scapegoat and simple explanations for complex problems.
