NSA

The National Security Agency (NSA) is a US intelligence agency responsible for collecting and analyzing information and moni- toring communications. Conspiracy theorists claim that the NSA conducts extensive mass surveillance worldwide, including illegal wiretapping and other violations of privacy and civil rights. Alleg- edly, it even has a program to read encrypted data on the Inter- net. Unfortunately, these claims are not an exaggerated conspira- cy theory but have proven to be true. The whistleblower Edward Snowden, who worked for the NSA and CIA, published secret documents in 2013 that revealed the immense extent to which the population is spied on and monitored by the secret services – not just in the USA but globally and regardless of suspicion.
